Wesak Day Year 2553 at Kerian Buddhist Association

Another best part of my previous trip was, I get to celebrate Wesay Day at home!
It was the first time I went back for Wesak Day for almost 15 years ago!

Family, friends and all kind souls who follow this weblog long enough know that I was actively involved in the Youth Buddhist activities.
Kerian Buddhist Association - I called it home once.
I did soo much when I was a teenager in the Buddhist Association - camps, concerts, praying ceremonies, Buddhist classes, kaligraphy etc. I picked up my organisation and leadership skills alot more when I was there too. These experiences had certainly helped me alot until where I am at the moment. *amitabha*

All the great memories.. I am so blessed!

I miss the place alot, and I must confess, I miss the vegetarian food prepared by those aunties even more! ;)
[I was quite hungry at that time, okay! I skipped breakky for this!]

I grew up eating Kerian Buddhist Association aunties cooking : pure awesomeness.
They don’t use artificial material much : no fake meat, fake fish so on and so forth.

The moment I saw lotus root soup, I was like: ney! look! my favourite!!!!

Tofu!!! Another one! The flavour and taste remained the same since the day I left home. *tears* Those aunties are awesome or what? :)

I was thoroughly enjoying my meal - oh! an silent orgasm. taste bud wise larr. :)
p/s: I learn naughty things from the aussies. *grin*

I always wanted to bring Kian here on Wesak Day so he can get to experience the homely friendly envo in KBA as well.

I explained to him about the meaning behind Bathing Buddha Ceremony.

After that, it was my turn. I kneeled down and bathed The Buddha. *deep breath*
You know what, I remember I did that when I was a little kid, but I never got to do that after.
Personally, I think it is just a Buddha Birthday celebration ceremony - but this time, I felt completely different. I soon realised that I actually miss this whole place alot more.

Funny thing was, the kiddo behind me, was trying to tell me how to bath the Buddha. Ha! How cute!
“er2 tong2 xiang1 jian4 bu4 xiang1 shi4, xiao4 wen4 ke4 chong2 he2 chu4 lai2″ = “we (kid and I) meet, kid asked me where I come from?”

Wesak Day is a bit like a reunion for the fellow Buddhists, especially for those have been helping out for many many years.

I was absolutely thrilled to see many olf friends here.

Friends who love, care and guide me all the way. Without their kindness and wisdom, I can’t quite imagine who I would be.
Of course, the support from my parents - dad and mum have been always the best!

It was a good feeling to come home.

When I look back, I realise nothing much had changed all these years. But for myself, I am a grown-up now! yay! *.*

This post is written specially dedicated to Ya Wei jie who missed out the ceremony. You’ve seen the changes in me and you believe in me. Thank you.
