About Me

Name: Cynthia Foo. *obviously the!*

My Chinese name is 晶晶 (Jng Jng) meanning twinkling (stars). Yet, my family and close friends back home call me 慧慧 (Huey Huey) meanning ‘wisdom; wise’. The reason my late grandpa changed my name to the latter one because the pronunciation of Jng Jng sounds very close to my maternal grandma’s name in Teow Chew (One of the Chinese origin dialect). To avoid confusion, my genius family members gave me an extra name.

But, today..I am neither a star nor a wise person. =.=”’

D.O.B: End of February, 19-eight-something.

Ok! I admit: I dislike numbers and this does not mean I deny ageing, k? If you are kind enough to me, I will probably let you know the number…erm, so not! Give me plenty of pressie first, then I may consider. :)

Hometown: I was born in a small town called Taiping, Perak (Silver)State, Malaysia. Taiping also known as Raintown as it rains a lot. I grew up in a small suburb, Bagan Serai. ‘Serai’ is one type of herb/spice widely used in Malay cooking.

My background sorta made me who I am today–rains and spice. Refering to the ‘RAIN’, I have over-productive lacrima glands. I produce large volume of tears in any occasion and any mood types. I *cry* most of the time when I am happy, excited, gan3 dong4 (touched). Strangely enough, I don’t drop any tears when I am sad. Speaking of ‘SPICE’, I must admit I am quite emo. I have very strong feeling toward everything in my life. Yeah, if you wanna call me ‘drama queen’, I am fine with it. ;) Mind you, if I am not dramatic enough, my lifeand my weblog (diary)  are going to be just plain tasteless. Right?

Current Location: Perth, Western Australia

Family: I am the eldest, and I have 2 younger brothers and a younger sister. I born in a happy family. Happy, open-minded, ‘crazy’, full of traditional Asian and Oriental value yet with Western civilised element. This make me a very optimistic and happy-go-lucky person. But sometimes, I feel like I am rather an Asian version bimbotic blonde. ;)

Occupation: my parents spoilt brat; my siblings coolEST sister; my bf’s lovely yet evil gf. Oh yeah, I do pay tax too. Gottit?

Hobbies and Interests:

1. Knowledge seeking. I love reading. I read almost everything… and craps (maybe?). Internet, news, blogs, books, papers..everything. I listen to radio while I drive, if my radio player still working. I like to update myself with local, national and international news (and gossip). I like Kian telling what he has been reading too.

2.Photography. I love taking photos! I love all sorta photos–with friends, strangers, people…everyone whom I encountered before; I love random pictures too. I like using my pseudocreative imagination and insanely crazy idea to compose a good picture using my camera, Canon A80. I love taking photo for others, if I can’t get anyone to do my ‘art work’ for me, I self pose! ;)

All those pictures I’ve been taken, never been photoshopped. Yeah! ’cause I don’t know how to photoshop anyway. I even have problem resizing photos! If you think my photos are great, yeah…they are from my eyes. (words inspired by Tim)

3. Cooking and Food. I enjoy my food. Thanks go to my family. We are typical yummie-food seekers. Grandpa used to take us go down all the way to Ipoh at 3am(!) for Foo-Shan Dim Sum, Dad brings us all the way to Penang for supper at 11pm(!). Both my nanas cook yummidelicious Hakka and Teow Chew dishes…plus, my childhood babysitter who cooked superb Hokkien dishes. You see where I’m coming from? ;) note: I haven’t mention my aunties yet!!

4. Getting myself visually busy. I love non-stop doing things. Here and there. The minute I get out from my bed, I will be busy doing things–internet, housework, paper work, gardening ..etc etc. I enjoy busy lifestyle with people around me or even by myself. It is just so good knowing I’m still alive and functionable.

5. Media. I love watching movies, BBC comedies, dvd, tv, youtube, advertisement, billboard ad etc etc. Anything that make me smile, giggle and laugh! I’m a sukka of all sort of comedies and good quality movies. I don’t mind high-tech well modified movies, as long as they have good story lines and don’t leave out the sense-of-humour. If there are some cute dudes or hot chicks in there, it is definitely a bonus too ;)

5. Getting people annoyed. Maybe yes, maybe no. I always do things or ask THE right question at wrong timing! Always happen to me. Argh! Yeah, might as well, add this in my hobby, eh? ;)

Pet:

1. Gold fishes. Names? Not available. I used to name them, but I always get mixed up with their names and even before I can recognise which one is which. Bad huh?

That’s all I can think of myself so far at 9th Jan 2007 (10.36am). If you have any questions about me, I am more happy to answer them. Cheers!
