Kuala Lumpur#2: Menara Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Street, Petronas Twin Towers

Update#1: It was Kian’s birthday last week. I lied to him that I won’t be home till the following day. I actually rocked up at home to surprise him just an hour before the clock strikes 12′.  ^^
Update#2: We went to ‘Back To School’ party organised by a friend of mine. It was such a great fun. I’m not sure if I manage to post up the event as you can see, I am so freaking behind *frown*
Update#3: I’ve been busy with work; I will be leaving on a jet plane next week. Note to myself: Kuala Lumpur series must be done as much as possible before more travel blog posts start accumulating like a big pile of old news paper. *sigh*

Hello Hello! Again, welcome to Kuala Lumpur (KL) :)

I always wanted to travel around KL espcially visiting the famous tourist hotspots like Petronas Twin Tower etc etc.
Thanks go to Anca, my Romanian friend who happend to be in KL at the same time after IPSF World Congress in Bali.
She invited me to join the rest of them - I was absolutely thrilled!

Ya know, I like to play tourist ^^

We met in somewhere in KL Suria, somewhere. Very tricky. We both don’t know KL much, so I decided to suggest an awesome landmark: Pharmacy! That worked well for all the pharmers.

First stop, we collected the FOC tickets up the Petronas Twin Tower. We got the tickets for the very last tour - I was excited as I was informed we would get to see the ‘twilight’ view of KL.

Since the tour didn’t start till late afternoon, we decided to go to Menara Kuala Lumpur.
Instead of calling a cab, we decided to walk. *regret later*

KL traffic is insanely MAD! The cars and motorcyles came out in the middle of nowhere!
I swore to  Buddha, no  way I could make it to another end!! There were a few times I  nearly got hit by some vehichles!
I told Uncle Ray, Auntie Lily and Kian about the traffic over the dinner table the other night. They seem to think it is a sign which I have been living in Perth for way too long. I am too comfortable in Perth. Righty-O -  I feel loved in Perth, absolutely. ^^

Here I am:

According to the tourguide: it takes about 15minutes or so to walk from Petronas Twin Tower to Menara Kuala Lumpur.
*fooled* We walked for at least 40 minutes under the hot and humid KL. I still couldn’t believe I managed to do that considering I am not a walking/jogging person.

Us, standing infront of the huge fan - much needed cool breeze.

Before we went up to the Tower, someone suggested we join the tour of Hutan Simpanan Bukit Nanas

My piece of advice? well, it is entirely up to your decision to do the tour.
If you foreseen yourself enjoying a lengthy nonsense, educational-less tour by some proud Malaysian..
If you enjoy getting your blood being sucked by malaria-free mozzies…

Because I did! and regret BIG time later ^^

Bogdan took some photos before while we were waiting to go up to the Tower.

So here we went! We paid RM38 each to Menara Kuala Lumpur Tower.

The ticket we bought also entitled us to a few other activities.
My car-loving in me told me I should to go for F1 Simulator. ^^

Erm, check this out Honey! I am very determined to kick Alonso’s butt! YeeeHA!

Next! Lunch at the famous Jalan Alor!
(Thanks Uncle Wingz for the sms tips. You are ze awesome one!)

After lunch, most of the dracula friends decided to head back to the hotel for some rest. At the end, only one very keen photographer dracula friend who was yet to be killed by the heat wanted to explore more places and of course, take more photos!

We walked across the road from Jalan Alor, and I saw Bukit Bintang! Hey! Another famous landmark in KL, I think. I see LOT 10! Sound famous too. I remember Kian told me that!
We hopped on lotsa trains in KL - argh! One train system which is made up of several transportation companies. So confusing!

Before we arrived at our next touristt spot, we came across a temple, which I believe used to be a school or library back in the old days. *breath taking*

Here we are: Petaling Street aka China Town!! *yay*

I took Bodgan to some local hawker stall, we had some chinese herbal drink! It was awesome!!!

I didn’t get to take photos as from this point onward, my Lumix battery was running low, I was trying to save it for the later half of the day.
Anyhow, this doesn’t mean that I don’t have anymore photos to show ya. Check out Bodgan’s album. He took lotsa amazing photos! This is one of them! ^^

I can’t quite recall where we both had been to after Jalan Petaling, you know the time we had spent on hopping-in-and-out at the train stations and working on our way in KL - I must say It was quite an interesting one. I remember some conversations whom I met with my new dracula friend thou. Clearly. Bodgan told me Romania has sunflower farms are almost every where! Oh! SUNFLOWERS!

Last stop:
Petronas Twin Tower

I was very excited even before we went up there. You know, just that idea of standing 170meters above the street level.. between the bridge of two gigantic towers. *awesome*

Hehehe.. Tourist gota do what a tourist gota do.
Take an inside-kind of photo ;)

and.. a group photo, too!

Me and my fellow draculas! ^^
Honestly, I was quite reluctant to post show this photo to the entire world - at the end, what the heck. I am proud of my height. ToT

I must say that this tour is worthwhile for several reasons:

1. The view from Twin Towers is somewhat more magnificient than the view from Menara Kuala Lumpur. Yer, I know I know. It shoudn’t look much different because the whole ‘thing’ is in the bloody city itself.
2. A  proper, formal and educational introduction of Petronas Twin Towers  in the 3D theater.
3. The air-con up there is great for hot humid weather! I likey~!
5. The tour is FREE!

Thanking Bodgan for some great Kodak moment and Thanking Anca, Andrei, Irina and Sanziana for having me around. ^^

One last awesome photo from Lumix Lx3:

Read: Satu Warisan. Satu Matlmat. Satu Malaysia

HA…HA…HA.. .. CHHHIU!!!! *sneeze. rub my nose*

Excuse me. I think I need a supermega massive dose of antihistamine. Till then! :)

Much love,
Cynthia x
