Family Holiday #1 : Marketing at Sukawati

Hello Hello! I am back in Perth! Yay!
I spent one month away from home - 3 weeks in Bali. 1 week in Kuala Lumpur.
To be more exact, I wasn’t travelling around Bali for the entire 3 weeks. For the first 14 days, I was pretty much busy with Leaders in Training (LIT) and 55th IPSF World Congress. I’m not if I have time to get around and write about all the craziness in Congress. Oh well, will see aye?

I checked in to another hotel in Sanur after the Congress.
I was absolutely amazed by all the Balinese sculptures.. Jesus, either Congress was too much for me, or it was just me, overly culturally shocked?

Everything was just so peacefully beautiful.
[Righty-O! Definitely GA overdose! ]

I went for a swim (finally) while I was waiting for my parents and grandma.
Daddy decided to tag mum and nan along to visit me in Bali. ^^ I feel so loved! (as usual)

The next day, we headed out to Pasar Seni Sukawati:

Daddy’s little girl.

The whole market was an eye-opener for me! The colour was rich, lotsa people, lotsa things to see and BUY!
I didn’t quite fancy the local peddlers who approached me and asked me to buy their stuffs. Argh. They were so pushy!

I had fun shopping with dad! Daddy is awesome!

We saw this: :)

Dad: Hueyhuey, I think you should buy one for Claudine..
Me: Daddy, please. Claudine only use the one with electric one, okay? :P

Mum and nan were laughing away. tsk tsk tsk.

I’ve been speaking in Teow Chew with nan for the entire trip. It was awesome - thank gawd to know I’m still able to speak good Teow Chew ;) *very proud*

Just right before I’d gone crazy with Aussie dollars, I heard people calling my name “Cynthia! Cynthia!”

I turned around! Hey hey!!! Look daddy, mummy! They are my friends from Congress! Say Hi everyone! >.<
It is good to see some familiar faces in a 'new' world, don't you reckon?

I didn't manage to adjust myself in the hot and humid weather. Think: It was only 3 degree celcius when I left home!
I was so sick at the Congress - I had a course of Amoxycillin and Tamiflu (!!!) God, I might have survived the bugs, but I seriously got killed by the humidity!
Okay, maybe not. I am such a drama queen ;)

Anyway, it is all good now. I'm slowly getting there.

Oh! Again! This is me, doing a customary Teh-Botol shoot ;)

*happy*

You can’t claim that you’ve been to Indonesia unless you do the local drinks.. that’s include Bintang beer which I nearly overdosed on. *wink*

One hour hard work:

The total damage is less than less than AUD25!!

Okay. This is the thing. I was told that I must bargain! If I was offered a dress for Rp200,000.00 (so many zeros) Two hundred thousands, I could bring it down to Rp30,000.000 ! (thirty thousand)

So I did! Easy done. I didn’t bargain much either. Everything seemed to be effortlessly easy.

The moment I walked out the store, I did some calculation, converting the Rp to Aussie dollar.

OMfG!!!!!!

What the??? Are they kidding me? One dress for AUD3.5!!!

Damn it! I felt like walking back to the shop right away at that time. I figured out I need some floor mats for the house, too!
