Half-Day Trip in Penang
We went to Penang the last time we went to Malaysia.
It was a very short trip but we had so much fun!
First stop:

Lorong Selamat.
It is not hard to guess why we were there too!

The char koay teow (CKT) aunty is still the same - grumpy and ‘lansee’
The taste of CKT is the same, except the price and location.
The aunty had moved down to a few shops away from the original store.
Price? Very dear. I can’t quite justify, honestly.

Next stop:

Penang famous ‘Hioh Piah’ (pastry)
We waited for awhile for the freshly baked Hioh Piah.
It was absolutely delicious! I finished almost 80% of them! Hence, this explained why I didn’t end up having Penang Assam Laksa

We had a quick stop at Khoo Kongsi

You can read their history over here too!

I was totally amazed by the paintings on the wall. Stunningly breath-taking!

While we were taking photos on the outside, the security guide told the story behind the 2 Buddhas.
There was a Crying Buddha

and the Happy Buddha.

The reason behind the happiness is:
money.. of course.

Happy Buddha kept/hidden some money with him.. blah blah blah
Sound cliche or cynical? Yep! That’s very ‘Chinese’ thingy. =) We all just know. LOL

The final stop: Penang Butterfly Farm (PBF).
My aunty reckoned I somehow ‘have’ to visit PBF at Batu Ferringgi.

I felt like a kid again! I was checking out the butterflies, ah! They were so pretty!
“ney! look! ney! here! photos!”
:)

We visited their musuem as well and I saw our ‘home’

The humidity was a killer but overall, we had fun!
Penang is always awesome if you can put up with the crazy drivers and polution. Ha!
