Taiping: Kedai Kopi Kok Beng Chicken Rice

I am still writing on Day Two of my travelling schedule. I told you so - I had 3 awesome meals in one day. Hence, this makes 3 awesome foodie posts. :P

After having dim sum breakfast in Ipoh at Ming Court,  we went to Taiping for the famous Kok Beng Chicken Rice!
I’ve been visiting Kok Beng since I was a little girl. I never failed to eat the chicken rice everytime I go back to Taiping. However, this is the first time I have written about Kok Beng.

One thing I must mention: I can feel myself growing old mature, yet Uncle Kok Beng still looks the same as 15 years ago! Ageing is a b*tch or what? pffft.

Anyway, an irrelevant information for the old(er) folks from Taiping, Kok Beng used to be located at Jalan (whatever), currently Guardian Pharmacy. It is currently located on Jalan Kota, very close to Hua Lian (private) High School.

Long time ago, I told Kian there is this Kok Beng Chicken Rice did very very tasty chicken rice. He didn’t quite believe in me. Or he probably couldn’t tell how TASTY it is due to his experience from Melaka chicken rice. So this trip, I insisted he must ‘do some Kok Beng’s chicken too’ (politically incorrect lame joke) :)

I was wondering why the shop signboard had changed to such a colourful one. Where is the white one gone to?
Turn out… I see! Kok Beng had won one of the Top 10 chicken in Malaysia!

Yay!!!

So happy for Kok Beng! and so proud! :)
[tumpang gembira lah! I’ve been there since I was a young kid]

Anyway, the chicken –>
My bigger time favourite steamed chicken and the innards ;)

2. Grilled chicken

Flavour wise? VERY VERY NICE!
I don’t need to tell you how yummydelicious they are because they don’t get voted Top 10 in Malaysia for nothing, right? ;)

Ah! the happy chooks!
