Regal On Roe Seafood Restaurant

Confession:
I can’t sleep. I was reading the Magician - happily Pug(ed) away. I tried to read as slowly as I can before I can get the second book. The actual book, not e-book that Kian’d got.
Kian fell asleep on the couch. He looks peacefully cute and adorable. I wanted to give him another kiss on his forehead, just like how he kisses me every night before I go to sleep. *smile*

Back to the foodie talk, shall I? :)
I went to Regal On Roe the other day. I am very determined not to go their next door for yum cha.

Apparently, ROR is a quite a new dim sum place in Town - that’s how I was informed. Yet, this has shown that we haven’t eat out for awhile.

In order to tell how nice or how authentic they were, we ordered a few aunthetic dishes. roll eyes. Oh well, at least to our own level of aunthenticity. :)

1. Phai Kuat - Pork spareribs
[Sorry, this is not tanggung HALAL]
It tasted very well. It hadn’t got the weird porky smell, very flavourish. Very happy!

2. Another aunthentic Chinese dish: Chicken Feet aka Phoenix Claws *cough*.
Yer, I know - we Chinese eat everything, and apprently shamelessly admit. *Asian Pride* what the fxxk? what does Asian pride gotta do with Chicken Feet? =.=!!!
Taste: again, very flavourish. The garlic is the one to kill for. The chef got the right savoury taste.

3. Prawn and chives dumplings (Gao Choy Gaw)
Har Gow, is supposingly the more classic dim sum ppl order, but I like mine with chives. They remind me of my grandma’s Teow Chew dish - ku chai kueh.

4. Last dish: some kind of dessert.
We were quite fulled by the time we had the forth dish or so. Well, in order to stay longer in a typical Hong Kong Chinese restaurant, you gotta have a dish on the table, pretending we were still eating so the wait person won’t shoooosh us off. Geddit? ;)

I give ROR a very good score at this stage, say 8/10.

If you don’t want to pay alot at Dragon XXX; if you think Welcome XXX is all dirty; if you reckon the restaurant next door to ROR  is always very crowded, and the waitpersons are all super lansee and rude.. then you may want to try out ROR.
I know, we people in Perth like got no where to go for dimsum. sigh

Sekian. And I hope I can go to bed soon. :)

Yeah, it shows that you haven’t been to Northbridge in about 2 years. lol But I’m glad to know that Regal on Roe has improved, I went there late last year and it was pretty bad.

Northbridge Chinese Restaurant has surprisingly gotten a lot better these days especially on the weekend (but on the weekday they suck).

Day-Dreamer: They are very yummi.. and it is my new-found favourite!

Angie: ROR has strong team of management.. associate with HK BBQ owner. something along the line.

Kak: we Chinese (Asian) eat everything! lol and I am determined to keep the tradition alive! =)

They were formerly from Happy Meal in Victoria Park. Happy Meal has a few owners, but 1/a couple sold their stake and formed Regal on Roe. This is what my cousin told me… who is apparently friends with them.
