NAPSA Congress Perth 09 - Registration Day

After all the behind-the-scene preparations, we were ready to rock and roll.
But to be honest, I was very happy and feeling rather contented even though there was any reason I couldn’t make it. Throughout all these times, I’ve learn heaps! It was the entire learning journey that fulfilled my learning satifaction.

NAPSA Congress Perth 2009 started officially on the 24th January 2009 (Thursday).
Approximately at 730am, the marquees were set up.

We brought out all the show bags, divided them accordingly to the T-shirt sizes. There wasn’t enough space for all of them, so we ended up borrowing some space from the NC’s balcony. What an experience. It was pretty funny, I reckon.
I was given a name list of all the delegates, a few pens, a yellow highlighter, lanyards and a few minutes in between so I could take a breather!

Everyone was ready. Oh well, sorta. At least the helpers already knew what they were suppose to do. James was running some errands out there; Dan and Luke were getting ready for the transportation etc etc. Funny enough, Luke decided to ram a car using the rear of the mini bus. Ok. This isn’t funny.

Registration wasn’t really my department and i must admit i had a panic attack. Luke did the database and initially I was told to use his laptop. I was totally like ‘wtf’ - You serious? Me hitting the keyboard button playing with database? NO WAY !
(Yeah, so the good ol’ black-and-white paper is still the best idea)

Approximately 9am.. delegates started marching toward the Registration Desk.
At that moment, I was getting abit emotional - I couldn’t believe this is all happening.
THIS IS REAL !!!

After months and months of preparation.. this was the moment we waiting for. So surreal.
We got the delegates’ names, allocated the rooms, gave them showbags, lanyards. Other helpers showed them the way to their rooms, and also explained how to use the public transport etc etc.

There were approximately 250 Pharmacy students from all over Australia - WAPSA, TAPS, SUPA, GUAPS, TEPS, VPSA, PHARMERS etc etc. It was very overwhelming. Can you believe that? We all share the same passion: d.r.u.g
lol

Everyone was working as a team and everything was running very smoothly.
At some point in time, I just knew we had organized the B.E.S.T NAPSA Congress ever!

For all the (official and unofficial) helpers who helped out thrughout the Congress, I could never thank you all enough for all your hard work. Everything, everything that you’ve done - I sincerely appreciate it.
Many thanks, again!
