The Dalai Lama 2007 Australia Tour (06.06.07-Perth)
Kian and I went to His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama Australia Tour at Busrwood Dome. It was awesome! It was an alternative weekly date of ours, and that’s for sure.
Hello Everybody, please meet the Lama *Amitabha*
Note: My words from this particular experience don’t represent Dalai Lama’s presentation. Each individual may interprete differently. Ru2 shi4 wo3 wen2, is the word, meaning this is what I heard from … .

I must say I am very very lucky to have the chance to attend the Dhamma (Buddhist’ teachings). For a Buddhist, I truely believe a good cause is due to good karma.
The first Dhamma was held at 930am. We both reached there at 6am. You think we are insane? Ha! Ha! There were people from country area arrived at 4am! four freaking AM! It was freezing, but it was all worth it.
Dalai Lama is a very very wise man (obvisouly). He presented Dhamma with sense of humour; his carefree yet wisdom shows why he is widely accepted by the public especially in Western Countries.
In the first talk, Spirituality and Sustainability Forum, he said, how to preserve the nature? I don’t use bath tub for showering, I use shower, so I can save water. I switch off the light when I leave the room.
Everyone applaused and laughed out loud.

When Dalai Lama was questioned about how politician can take up a role in protecting environment (or something like that)..He looked stoned, and smiled to Jamie Durie (host), and answered: I don’t know. He laughed.
aH! So cute! Again, his honestly won another applause from everyone. I realised this is the attitute lack in Chinese. When they don’t know, they pretend they know everything. They are either trying to pretend they are smart or they afraid their Chinese boss think they are too dumb.

The second Dhamma presentation was Ethic for New Millenium. It was a booked out event. We didn’t actually manage to get hold on any tickets! Not until a lady overheard my conversation with a gentleman sitting next to me, she offered help. WAH LAU!!! We get to go BOTH talks!!! This a bloody good karma, can??? This means I am super nice larrr
*ahem*

I saw the tickets, and I started touching them, feeling them…hoping it was NOT a dream! I was so moved and I cried! Ya Wei jie…I think you are the only person can understand my feeling at that moment.

I must speacial thank Hayagriva Buddhist Center who giving out the tickets for me. The lady was very kind, she said to me: Love, I try to get two seats together, so you can sit with your partner.
Honestly, I don’t expect her to get both of us sitting together, as long as there is one ticket for each of us, I am happy.
Thank you!

Dalai Lama began his presentation by asking: why major religion is built around God? Do human being need a religion?(something like that)
He said, in fact we don’t need any religion, unless we are lost and then we need one to guide us thru.
Yep! This is absolutely Buddhism. Perfect, clear message.

It was enlightend, educational and entertaining.
Kian managed to record a small part of presentation on video, but youtube has been playing up with me. I tried toupload 3 times..non working. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the joyfulness of holy Dhamma as much as I do.
Sadhu, Sadhu, Sadhu.

*respect respect*
One of my colleagues went as well, said it was quite inspirational even though a lot of things which he had said were obvious - so obvious but we don’t do it.
As for the video, you can try Vimeo. I find that it works better than Youtube.
有因缘聆听达赖喇嘛说法,实属殊胜!
Thank you Kian and partner for this lovely blog. Made me smile happily to hear your personal comments.
I think your saying “there was a lot that was obvious….obvious, but we don’t do them” was so cute!
HHDL visit has made me treble my mindfulness in both regards: Saving the planet’s resources and doing what I can for the poorer folk.
In gassho!
