Meet The Old School Mates
Hello everybody, please meet my old junior high folks from Sekolah Menengah Alang Iskandar [SMAI] (Alang Iskandar High School) !
In case you wonder, why there aren’t much students in my own race? There were several old friends who can’t make it due to family reason–having baby, spending their CNY with in-laws far away from home. Classic caese when you come to this age? hehehe
But yeah, we did have very small Chinese population in my junior high. Don’t believe it? See the next photo.

Ta dah!!
If my memory serve me right, we had approximately 15 Chinese students in a year, that’s why we always struggle to organise an after-class Mandarin lesson. The headmistress back then refused to organise a class for us provided there were 15 students.
Anyway..do you manage to spot me in this old photo? So many things had been changed since I left my junior high..but one thing for sure, my cute-ness never changed. *ahem* This IS what I’ve been told by my old friends said.
I don’t simply simply make up the fact one, you see. *wink*

Tze Choong is my brother table tennis friend too. He plays very very well, I remember he represent our state..not just school, our state! He went elsewhere for table tennis competition. How cool!
He met Jacky Cheung and some other super stars in S’pore, he took photo with them, and display them in the house. You know what, I am soooo going to print this photo out, and he is soooo going to display this photo next to other super star!!!

This is Wei Wei. We both were very competitive back then. His name always come after mine in the top student list.
Haha! Not that I am saying I was good academically, he is just being kind to me. He knew I am such a perfectionist that I want to be the first and the Number-1 student in my class– Number 1-shortest, Number-1 loudest, Number-1 talkactive, etc etc. *sigh! I wish I can stop talking sometimes.*

Pei See was another gal in my class, sitting behind me. She studied all the time, and she stressed me out so much. Peer pressure is good, I tell you. I probably wouldn’t make it to these Number-1(s) without her.

Pei Pei is teaching in a primary school now. She is a school teacher, ie. Hey!!! I have a school teacher friend!!! How cool is that? *p/s: my godmother is my primary school teacher*
I always think teaching is a very very respectful job. I will never see myself standing infront a group of students and educate them properly. I am quite short tempered. I am afraid I would stretch few mucles of my arm and bitch slap the students.
But hey! I did do teaching for awhile in Buddhist Sunday School thou. But again, I didn’t slap anyone there ‘cos they were all good students. And they were nice to me, too. And I think because I am a nice person. *cough*

Sook Lai. OH! She is very very independent. She is managing a company, and her organisational skill is so damn good. At my age, sometime I wonder how she get to learn so much, do so much….don’t these people need to sleep?

This leng chai Boon *whatever* …damn! Boon Wui and Boon Quan are twin. They look so alike that I never get to know who is who after 10 days. Great! Shame on me! I shall run and hide.

This dude..Zhen Hua. Ah! I always feel very very pleased ’cos he is not much taller than me. :P

My old friend Ying Yuen insist me will act cute like her when I take photo. =.=”’ Aunty! I am cute already larrr. Mind you, maybe I should do that sometimes.. Ying Yuen has a daughter in Year 1, and she is still looking hot and sexy all the time. What a hot mum in town, I call her.

Ah! Is like a big family gathering again…after years and years… ..

So..my old friends…see you all after sometimes!!!

‘don’t these people need to sleep? ‘
Sleep is for the weak! Or … you can sleep when you’re dead.
[Two sayings I totally ignore … I’d rather sleep! Sleep is fun! lol]
KAMI ANAK MALAYSIA!
I think you should title the last photo “楊協成帶給您同窗之悅”
I probably should also point out. This is the year of my 25th School Reunion. I can’t make it back to Sydney for it. [Well, I probably can’t afford it if I do try to make it back].
Still, there isn’t that many people I want to talk to whom I’m not already in contact with anyway! I wonder how old and fat some of them are. [Actually, there are TWO of us who are still under 42 at the present moment, and I’m going to be crossing that threashold in May and my friends Martin will cross it in August]. lol We’re the babies from our year!
I know my friend Sue died years ago [from what I suspect was annorexia], and I wonder how many other people have died in our year.
My friend Gary was diagnosed with a brain tumour a few years ago, but I received word recently that he’s still alive and well. *phew* So hopefully I’ll get to see him if I get a chance to return to Sydney any time soon.
Reunions with old friends are so fun!
Isn’t it wonderful that you guys can still keep in touch after such a long time leaving high school?
Hello everybody.
That is so cool to get with so many old classmates. Have never done that and I graduated over 30 years ago. Sad lor?
Wah! How can I identify anybody in your class photo. So blind can die.
Hi, in your earlier post you did a write-up on Rottnest Island, I plan to do a day trip also while in Perth in early May. Which tour agent you recommend and will I be able to book it online?
Appreciate your assistance!!
Howdy Simple American, nvr end a question with “Lor” one, Shud be “sad hor?”.
Dabido: If possible.. I rather sleep 7-8 hours a day. That’s all my body need. I prefer to stay awake so I can do more. Life is too short to sleep in so much
wuching: how true is that?
cooknengr: Haha! yeah.. wherever we go..Yeo’s always there eh? Msian Yeo’s drink are very sugarish..the one they have in aussie..very diluted.
Dabido: erm..well, i guess we all in the same boat. By the time I reach your age, I probably have to look up obituaries instead of reading daily news.
day dreamer: it is absolutely fantastic!!! and you will be surprised to see what has been changed, and what hasn’t
simple american: speaking of which, I myself have problem recognising them. But is ok, they all know me
wm: hello there! If you going to Rottnest island, you dont actually need a tour agent. it is a small island. When you go to Rottnest Island, there is a tourist information center, you can buy a ticket for tour-around-the island. the tour guide is very friendly, he/she will explain everything. They will stop at certain places, so you can take photos.. and of course they wont send you back without showing you the quokkas
The tour takes about an hour plus; I suggest you hire a bike there, cycle around the area..or you can do sailing or kayaking. it is great fun!
cooknengr: ‘hor’ is very very cheeena!!
you trying to convert simple american , issit?
