Pre-Mother’s Day Short Talk
I made couple of cards for Mother’s day. Cards for my mum, Kian’s mum, aunty Verna and my k-mum. Sending card to mum is like a routine for me in the past 10 years. Gosh! I can’t believe I left home for freaking 10 years already.

“Ney, can you please write something in the card, so I can post it for your mum?”
“OK.”
“Ney! Is that all you write??? Happy Mother’s Day???”
“Yeah.. what else?”
“Aint you going to say I LOVE YOU, MUM?” (I think is a good time for a male to say that at this special occasion especially Chinese (aka Asian) is not very expressive.)
“Ha? No need one lah! She knows I love her…”
“But ney… you can say I LOVE YOU to your girl friend, but you can’t say that to your mum.. both are female!!”
“Nah.. is OK! She knows…”
“OK….”

Hmm.. I am wondering how many of you guys of there actually say ‘I LOVE YOU” to mum and dad? =) Is that really that ‘romantic’ 肉麻?
augh…u jz reminded me that mother’s day so near…
haven’t figure out wat to get her…haha…happens every year…;p
but talking abt ‘i lov u’…hmm…i reali can’t blame the guys if they find it hard to tell their mum…
coz i find it difficult to tell my dad THAT too…u know, he being so poker face and me being Asian etc…very difficult -.-
How come mom is spelled as “mum’ on the post but “Mom” on the card ? Not your card gah ?
Typical Asians…
To find me writing “I Love You, Mom” is very easy, but to hear me say it, well, it is indeed a bit hard.
Some Chinese (aka Asian) are very expressive and some are not. My ex office mate still found it hard to talk manja-manja and hubby. They get goosebumps when they hear me talk to my husband. But then they hugs me on my last day of work.
lyn: so, what you getting this year? I say that ALL the time to my daddy, but much to mum. Mum has too much tewo-chew-ism in her =) Dad is a sweetheart
cooknengr: That one is not my card.
day-dreamer: you are so right!!! you taking your mom out?
flower: Haha!! I am the experssive type. I say what I want, do what I feel I want. If I dont manja(ed).. I feel like the world hates me or something. Hahahha!!!
haha, most Asians are not very expressive with their parents, but of course.. u are the exception
i think hor.. i nvr say i love you to my parents larh.. cham.. hahah` but like chen said, asians marh.. so substitute it with actions instead of words noh
chen: yeah, have to lah! of not, how the hell my mum n dad know how much $$ I need, right? ahem *_^
a^ben:maybe your are right..maybe you are not..but say it once in your life time.. you wont regret. not? I duno =) ekkekekeke
errrmm..
it would be awkward for me to say i love you to my mum and dad… maybe in person, but in cards, i guess it should not be a problem..
robin: heheh.. at least you going to say it. can you say it to Rodney? =)
random thought. ..ekek
lol…we wanted to buy a night gown for her…but those i saw at midvalley was so ugly tt i dun think i can forgive myself if i buy…;)
so i’m still stuck with NO GIFT situation…but then, i guess, i’ll probably buy her some beauty products…face mask sort of stuff…she kinda like that…^_^
lyn: my suggestion is buy her a set of body wash, scrub and moisteriser =) My mum loves it!
hey…great suggestion!
mums do like that kind of things, righto?
…
well, i’ll keep that as one of the things to look out for this sat when i go emergency shopping…haha…
thanx k…^-*
lyn: No worries~!!!
