Pre-Mother’s Day Short Talk

I made couple of cards for Mother’s day. Cards for my mum, Kian’s mum, aunty Verna and my k-mum. Sending card to mum is like a routine for me in the past 10 years. Gosh! I can’t believe I left home for freaking 10 years already.

“Ney, can you please write something in the card, so I can post it for your mum?”

“OK.”

“Ney! Is that all you write??? Happy Mother’s Day???”

“Yeah.. what else?”

“Aint you going to say I LOVE YOU, MUM?” (I think is a good time for a male to say that at this special occasion especially Chinese (aka Asian) is not very expressive.)

“Ha? No need one lah! She knows I love her…”

“But ney… you can say I LOVE YOU to your girl friend, but you can’t say that to your mum.. both are female!!”

“Nah.. is OK! She knows…”

“OK….”

Hmm.. I am wondering how many of you guys of there actually say ‘I LOVE YOU” to mum and dad? =) Is that really that ‘romantic’ 肉麻?

but talking abt ‘i lov u’…hmm…i reali can’t blame the guys if they find it hard to tell their mum…

How come mom is spelled as “mum’ on the post but “Mom” on the card ? Not your card gah ?

    Typical Asians…

To find me writing “I Love You, Mom” is very easy, but to hear me say it, well, it is indeed a bit hard. :D

Some Chinese (aka Asian) are very expressive and some are not. My ex office mate still found it hard to talk manja-manja and hubby. They get goosebumps when they hear me talk to my husband. But then they hugs me on my last day of work.

lyn: so, what you getting this year? I say that ALL the time to my daddy, but much to mum. Mum has too much tewo-chew-ism in her =) Dad is a sweetheart ;)

cooknengr: That one is not my card. ;)

day-dreamer: you are so right!!! you taking your mom out? ;)

flower: Haha!! I am the experssive type. I say what I want, do what I feel I want. If I dont manja(ed).. I feel like the world hates me or something. Hahahha!!!

    errrmm..
it would be awkward for me to say i love you to my mum and dad… maybe in person, but in cards, i guess it should not be a problem..

robin: heheh.. at least you going to say it. can you say it to Rodney? =)
    random thought. ..ekek
