Good One BBQ Restaurant, Victoria Park

We had dead weekend last week. We didn’t do much at home, beside reading, studying for exam and doing nothing at home suX. That kind of “you-see-me, I-see-you” weekend certainly a weekend that you are looking forward to.

Kian took me to a local Hong Kong style BBQ restaurant. We wanted get “washed” by the crowd, re-balancing mental frequency by sitting in a busy spot. Instead of talking to each other, we sat quietly and listened to the noise. I assure you, this is an altervative method of “meditation” =)

Good One BBQ Restaurant opened during the beginning of the year. It was definitely a good news for me as I no longer need to travel all the way down to Northbridge for descent HK roast.
Good One serves all sort of Chinese food; they specialise in Hong Kong style cooking. This restaurant owns by Hongkie, and you can even tell their shop design is very Hongkie too =P
Kian ordered sizzling Japanese tou fu with chicken mince in hot and spicy sauce. This is his all time favorite. The tou fu is deep fried, giving very unique, crispy and not-so-oily taste. The sauce is absolutely divine– not too watery and not-too-starchy.
I ordered combination of roast duck and roast pork. If you go to this restaurant, you MUST tell them you want the breast part of the duck, otherwise sometime the lady boss may “accidentally” give you other parts that you dont want to eat. I am their regular customer, I know this quite well. And I tell you what, you dont mess up with the lady boss, otherwise she will show you her “superb PMS” face. =)
The roast pork is yummie. I like the crackers(skin), they are very crunchy.
Have a close look of the duck breast.. They are yummie. I like the texture and the way they roast the duck. They are not that oily compared to other Hong Kong BBQ restaurants. They sorta have this “clean” feeling. However, some of friends don’t really like it as they think the duck does not have maximum content of fat. =P

Oh yeah, parking is not a problem and you can park your car behing the restaurant then enter the shop from back door. See, even the way to get into the shop also very Hongkie.. (what else I can say?)
