Hawker’s Cuisine
I love my food. When I say this, I mean it a lot. I easily get agitated if the food I have does not comply with my taste butt requirement. If happened you saw me just leave my plate after few mouthful of food, it is either I was ill and I did not feel like eating at that time, otherwise, the food musta taste like sh*t. I considered you are lucky enough as you never seen my agitated respond which is worst than PMS. I am a bigtime real bitchy bitch when come to dining table.
Oh yeah, don’t tell me the bad things (karma) of wasting food, this old-grandma rules apply to me NO more. =)
I went to Hawker’s Cuisine in Chinatown, Perth. Kian Seng, Kong Vui, Grace and KC –5 people in a car. Yay! I love “makan”ing with people who love their food just like me.
Apparently this restaurant is managed by Kong Vui’s relative; therefore getting discount by the end of the meal is not a problem. (I am pretty sure they still give 10% off for their customers at this stage)
We ordered salted vege and tofu soup. All ingredients used were “fresh
“—in fact, I was a bit disappointed as I love those near-expired salted vege taste. I like it when they are really salty. This is my very personal complaint. I should have asked the chef to add more salt or assam-like ingredient in there or something. damn. =)
The second course was snow crab with Hawker’s special sauce. *drooOol* The crap meat was absolutely beautiful- soft and fresh. I still can taste the “sweetness” of the meat. The sauce they used “clicked” well with snow crab.
My favorite dish was the Hawker’s Tofu. Oh my god! They are so so so soft and so tasty If you think only steak can melt in your mouth, I suggest you to think again. So orgasmic! =P
We ordered “Ikan Bakar” (grilled fish) as well. When we were asked “ what size of the fish you want? You want small, medium…” I replied straight away “Large, please!”
Er, the fish came in A cup, even I clearly remember I asked for C cup. But it is ok, I know we will get discount *wink wink*. So, no big deal.
Finally, it was Sarawak Kolok Mee that I have been dying for ages. Kian Seng who is a Mirian has been telling me about Kolok mee since we met. And I have been dying to eat the authentic style noodle since then. I thought I would probably try it some days in Sarawak, hell know at the end I had it in Perth. How weird is that?
The Perth style kolok me didn’t impress me much. It tasted no difference from West M’sia “Wontan Mee”. Anyway, I tried it..finally.
We ordered Pork Belly and vegetable, I didn’t try much.. I cant remember how does it taste like. =)
We had Iced Kacang and Iced Chendol for dessert. I think we shocked the waitress sh*t out ‘cause we did eat a lot.
This is a simple restaurant with typical menu like other restaurants; despite the food, I do recommend Hawker’s Cuisine as they give very friendly service like you cannot get in most of the “boo-chap-boo-chap” (eng:don’t care) Hongkie restaurant.
Plus, looking at all our smiley faces, you can tell that was a happy ending. =P
How much does all that cost?
Yeah, I do agree with u, the Perth Style Kolo Mee looks like wantan mee only
AUD125.00 after discount. I know it is freaking expensive. Dont vomit here. =)
Hey Young Lady, nice food post but hoh, where got Ikan bakar like that one ? Should be a whole fish , no ?
we asked for whole large one, but they gave us dunno what fish.
all the sudden C cup become A cup.shrink…
Note: C cup in femal bra term is LARGE, A cup means small.
